The mortgage industry has evolved drastically since the 1990s. The industry has seen recessions and periods of booming growth, the rising and falling of interest rates, and key process overhauls, specifically in the industrywide digitization and increased presence of e-closings.

As a company that made its start in the ’90s, we’ve seen it all. We’ve experienced growth, downturns and periods of stagnation. We’ve learned a lot about who we are as a business, where we want to go in the future and who we want to be for our clients. We’ve accepted and embraced the ebbs and flows of the industry, learning at every curve and bettering ourselves so we can better serve borrowers.

Every business goes through cycles. Take a deep breath and know it’s normal—you will have successes and failures, moments of clarity and moments of confusion. You will feel confident one moment and then question every move the next. It’s part of growth. No matter what industry, position or level of experience you possess, everyone has gone through these feelings at some point. It can be difficult when a business falters or you’re struggling to make ends meet, but those are the moments in which you often learn the most.
