CINCINNATI – Ever since Tiffany Ridpath found a note on her door in late February, her life has been a flurry of calls, emails and applications.

The three-bedroom rental she’d been living in for three years was one of nearly two dozen properties in the Sedamsville neighborhood to get a notice to vacate from the new property management company that took over in January. She had until the end of March to find a new place to live.

Ridpath was confused. Her family paid rent on time, and they didn’t have any issues with the property managers — yet the notice gave no opportunity to stay in the building. She had to leave by March 31 or face eviction.

“There was no warning,” she said. “To give 30 days with four kids, pets, especially with the housing market, it’s really hard.”
