But Action News Investigates has learned that despite the moratorium, hundreds of tenants in Western Pennsylvania have been evicted in just the last few months.
Thousands more are facing eviction.
Wayne Gindlesperger spent years caring for his father at a mobile home in West Newton, Westmoreland County.
After his father died, Gindlesperger took over the house but when the pandemic hit he fell on hard times.
“With this COVID going on there’s a lack of jobs and I got backed up on my rent,” Gindlesperger said.
In October, the owner of Voyager Estates mobile home park filed eviction papers against Gindlesperger saying he owed more than $4,700 in rent.
