WAMPSVILLE — The Madison County annual Tax Foreclosure Real Estate Auction has been canceled for 2020.
The auction was canceled due to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s executive order regarding foreclosures, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The auction for next year has already been scheduled for September 18, 2021.
“We understand that many people are interested in the land auction each year, and this announcement will be a disappointment for them,” said Rebecca Marsala, deputy treasurer and director of real property.
“Unfortunately we have to postpone any land auctions until 2021,” the deputy treasurer added.
Information regarding the properties slated for next year’s auction will be available in August 2021
