Mortgage rates are still running in place, with only minor movement up or down. According to Freddie Mac, the average 30-year fixed mortgage rate is 6.26%, up two basis points for the week. A year ago, it averaged 6.84%. The 15-year fixed rate is 5.54%, up five basis points. A year ago, it averaged 6.02%. The 10-year Treasury yield, which is highly correlated with mortgage rates, has increased by more than 0.75% over the past week.
