Mortgage rates have seen minimal changes recently. According to Freddie Mac, the national average 30-year and 15-year fixed mortgage rates have gone down two basis points to 6.72% and 5.85%, respectively, this week.
While home prices are moderating and housing supply is rising, mortgage rates are not expected to decrease by much anytime soon. If you are looking to buy a house in 2025, expect most mortgage lenders to offer a rate in the mid-to-high-6% range.
