Although many economists expected mortgage rates to be lower than they are right now, there is some good news for home buyers: Interest rates are down overall this month. According to Zillow, since the beginning of November, the 30-year fixed rate has dropped by 12 basis points to 6.45%. The 15-year fixed rate has also decreased by three basis points to 5.80%.
