From Jeff L. Thigpen
Greetings!
Effective–July 1, 2012
The Guilford County Register of Deeds “in-house and online” public search systems will fundamentally change at the end of June.
These changes are the result of new Indexing Standards in the NC Secretary of State’s Administrative Code which must be implemented July 1st. Please review the official order and letter to our NCARD President Wayne Rash from NC Secretary of State’s office.
The Register of Deeds gave serious consideration of using a “hybrid” approach to continue our popular online search system, but the incompatibility of the existing online search with the new indexing standards to be implemented July 1st created an inability to find certain public records indexed under these new standards.
As a result this incompatibility, we’ve decided to have one uniform in-house and online public search system that conforms to the standards effective July 1st.
This will be a significant change for our customers.
In anticipation of this change, we are doing the following:
June 18 and 19- Greensboro 10 am, High Point 2 pm
June 25 thru 29-Greensboro 10 am, High Point 2 pm.
We apologize for any inconvenience due to this change but we will do all we can to help make the transition as easy as possible.
Thanks.
