The states with the cheapest 30-year new purchase mortgage rates Monday were New York, Florida, Louisiana, Oregon, California, and Colorado. The six states registered averages between 6.76% and 6.89%.
Meanwhile, the states with the highest averages Monday were Alaska, West Virginia, Nevada, and Washington, D.C., followed by a large multi-state tie that includes Alabama, Indiana, and Maryland. The range of 30-year averages for these states was 6.96% to 6.99%.
