LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. — Loudoun County residents who are struggling to pay rent will be able to apply for emergency eviction assistance starting Monday.
People are able to apply for assistance by submitting an online pre-screening applications through the Loudoun Cares nonprofit. It has been commissioned by the Board of Supervisors as part of the county’s efforts to distribute funds from the American Rescue Plan Act, which addresses lingering economic impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Loudoun has issued $500,000 for this one-time emergency assistance program. The number of households that will receive help will vary based on multiple factors, but Loudoun Cares will sign up and recommend financial assistance for as many households as possible.
The county will make payments directly to landlords on behalf of approved applicants. The program will end by Jan. 31, 2024, or sooner if funds are used up.
