AMARILLO – Bart Reagor, the former CEO of Reagor-Dykes Auto Group, on Thursday stood at the steps of the federal courthouse in Amarillo and maintained his innocence, telling reporters he was optimistic that his conviction and 14-year prison sentence will be overturned on appeal.
Reagor spoke after a hearing before U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, who determined his punishment and allowed Reagor to begin serving his sentence on May 9. He recommended Reagor serve his sentence at the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth, which would have the means to treat Reagor, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2020.
Though he plans to appeal the Kacsmaryk’s ruling, Reagor said he appreciated the judge’s decision.
