Even without the common thread of political party affiliation, the four state legislators (all Democrats) representing the people of Medford, Malden, Somerville and Arlington work hand-in-hand-in-hand.
Their concerns coincide. High on all four of their agendas: enacting a state millionaire’s tax, a living wage for essential (and all) workers, mitigating the effects of climate change, increasing local affordable and low-income housing options, addressing public transportation needs, from increasing dedicated bus travel lanes, re-starting and expanding routes and expanding the free bus pilot program.
Also timely: Extending the Rental Assistance to Families in Transition (RAFT), guaranteed eviction protections.
On the triumph side: Extended COVID-19 related emergency measures like guaranteed paid sick leave for self-care and family care in COVID-19 related illness and promoting child nutrition through extending the free school lunch program.
