Buy-out: Homeowners are tempted to sign their papers with the artist who guarantees that they will stay as a tenant in the house and repurchase them eventually. The rules of this regime are generally so demanding that they can not be repurchased, the household owner is being expelled, and the rescuer has much or all of his shares.
Bait-and-switch: homeowners assume mortgage papers are signed. Instead, they sign the deed to their estate.
The law of Missouri creates strong consumer protection against these “rescue” scams. In compliance with state law, a mortgage consultant must apply for a written contract with the right to cancel for three days. You can not collect any advance payments, and you can not take into account any aspect of your home.
