Attorney General Eric Holder’s resignation last week reminds us of an infuriating fact: No banking executives have been criminally prosecuted for their role in causing the biggest financial disaster since the Great Depression.
“I blame Holder. I blame Timothy Geithner,” veteran bank regulator William K. Black tells Bill this week. “But they are fulfilling administration policies. The problem definitely comes from the top. And remember, Obama wouldn’t have been president but for the financial contribution of bankers.”
And the rub? While large banks have been penalized for their role in the housing meltdown, the costs of those fines will be largely borne by shareholders and taxpayers as the banks write off the fines as the cost of doing business. And by and large these top executives got to keep their massive bonuses and compensation, despite the fallout.

Can’t WE GET BILL BLACK ELECTED/APPOINTED to some office where he can “Dig IN” on this mess? If THIS administration wanted(hah-hah) to straighten out this putrid economy, wouldn’t you get BILL BLACK RIGHT ON the CASE? (Seems THAT is precisely their point: they DON’T want to FIX IT.) I’ve seen BILL BLACK treated like poison by this administration (1%ers.)
For ALL of the investigating, studies, & legal cases that have been done by the best & the brightest around the world (at grEAT peril to themselves) WHY isn’t CONGRESS, the Nation, DOING the NECESSARY to just FIX (repair) IT?! (oh, silly me aGAIN!:)
Remember Obama’s: “immoral, but not illegal” bs, and then he called us all “deadbeats?” That must have been too many scandals ago for all to recall, but ALL “CUT of the same CLOTH” as “like your dr., keep your dr.,” & “not a smidgen of corruption.” He was not yet known for the liar that he is.
Jail them. For revenge- no! But GET THEM the hell OFF of MAIN STREET! WHO threw the monkey wrench into rule of law? HOW is THIS NATION (still) being dragged down? Obama refuses to assemble the team- that’s how. He needs to ‘get-out-da-way!’
Turn BILL BLACK (& all of those who care) loose on this (oh so complex) problem & watch this Country right itself! It’d be a given!!!
If the bankers have threatened they’ll light a match to the world if prosecuted, put their asses in JAIL!
