March 21, 2012. Phoenix, Az. Neil F Garfield had emergency open heart surgery on Wednesday, March 7. The surgery was successful and he has been discharged from the hospital. He is now recovering at home. Neil has started writing again, and is hoping to return to his usual output soon.
